the end of the world part 1 (the original)

The houses were still. No switch was left switched Even the dogs knew not to bark. The street lights and the candles in the windows were the only light given. The cool breeze came knocking on the door. Life was still. The children lay silent in there beds. Knowing just one small sound could bring down a city. They knew better then to even whisper. At 1:13am on hill street, in house 137 1/2, which was not house 137, which people often confused, lay a boy and a girl passing notes back and forth. They spoke of adventures. Times better before the current situation. They spoke of sand and beaches and dragons. They spoke of berries and seagulls. They cried. At approximately 2:18 am it happened. The town siren started to go off. A;; the adults in all the town started to panic. Meetings were called, issues and resolutions were discussed. A plan was set forth for life after the end of the world. Shops were boarded up and telephone wires were cut. They waited. and waited. As the sun began to rise, the children filled the streets. The world had not ended. Nor did anything remotely bad happen. Freedom had begun to take over the children. They began to dance at the hope for a better world.

the end.
